Landlord Ignoring Damp Problem!

Myself and my husband rent a small property, we have broken guttering and we have phoned and written to him to ask him to fix it but he has ignored the letters and has said he will deal with it then nothing. now we have lots of black damp patches on the ceiling. what can we do to make the landlord deal with this!!?

If so, phone him again and suggest that as he is to busy to deal with the problem, that you are going to get a few quotes from local tradesmen to sort it out .... and you will just deduct the tradesman's bill from the rent.

wow I have this issue right now, I'm not holding my breath for our landlord to do anything, My advice would be to take photo's of the damp and the guttering and keep copies of your correspondences. Maybe the CAB can tell you what your next move would be, there is always a risk of being given your notice for complaining so tread carefully..
