Looking For A Very Good Torch

hi i'm trying to find a really good torch but the more i look the more confused i'm getting. trying to figure out the difference between all the different power ratings. what is the difference between Watts, candle power and lumens? the last one i had was 12V/55W and about 1,000,000 candle power, i'm now seeing 10,000,000 candle power. its obviously not a 10X brighter bulb so how do they increase the power 10 fold?are these ratings reliable? how good are the LED torches what experiences do any of you have please as i need to get one fairly soon.

Watts is the power taken (from the battery). Candlepower and lumens is the light output (1 candlepower equals 12.57 lumens).

The more efficient the light source the less power used and/or the brighter it can be.

IMO LED torches are very good and are likely to be the death nail of older bulb torches.
