My boiler in the kitchen has been noisy all day- seemingly clicking itself on, and then off, and then on etc. It's like it starts up, goes off and starts up again. I'm sure I don't remember it doing this before. Any ideas what is going on?! the heating is on low on the machine itself (1 bar as opposed to 2 or 3)because I knew it was going to be a bit warmer today. Many thanks

Check your room thermostat. Try turning it up a bit more.
Have you got a room stat? The bar gauge is the system pressure not the boiler temp.

A room stat? What's that? There's a thermostat dial in my flatmate's room. Is that the only way of turning it down- I thought the 'bars' pic on the boiler itself controlled how hot the heat is?!
