Might be worth looking for one which 'aerates' the water as it leaves the shower head. These give a better shower without using more water - particularly good if your are on a water meter.
Hi, Yes it does matter with an electric shower. They are designed to only work when the water is flowing and this is sensed by a simple pressure switch, If the new head you fit has holes which are too large then so much water flows that the pressure in the shower unit cannot build up and it will not switch on the heaters.
You must find a head with smaller holes or less holes whatever is easier (or increase the supply water pressure, usually impossible to do).
