Do I need to get a re-test on my electrics and a new certificate if I fitted new sockets in my kitchen. I am not an electrician.

There again, who's to know you added sockets ? You will be responsible for any consequences though.

When god was a lad you could do anything yourself. Then rules were brought out which made everything notifiable. Eventually "they" realised that this was a bit over the top and the rules were relaxed.

Old Geezer has it. Assuming no new circuit was installed, adding sockets in a kitchen is no longer notifiable.

The onus is simply on you to be sure everything is kosher.

I should have explained properly that the property was tested and passed, 3 yrs down the line I changed the socket fronts no extra sockets or wiring was added or taken away. Thank for all your answers.
