Can you still buy Windowlene, the pink creamy stuff for cleaning windows. I can't seem to find it anywhere. If not, any other suggestions for getting windows clean and not smeared. I've tried newspaper and vinegar - it looks ok until the sun comes out!

Many thanks

I've got some old windowlene in my cupboard. I never use it though. I use a spray on glass cleaner I saw in the shop and wipe it off with paper towelling.
I always had streaky windows when I cleaned them with anything other than the pink windowlene. That is until I discovered these new cloths. I have a windowcloth (look in the cleaning section in the supermarket), well, 2 actually, I use one wet and then dry with the other one. No streak, no mess, (and no horrible windowlene smell), great.
I use fairy liquid in hot water (a good squirt of it) swish the cloth around to make it"bubbly" and dont squeeze till nearly dry though, polish off with a dry cloth and the glass will come up sparkling-try it
Join the club! My windows always look worse after I've cleaned them - full of smears. But I can definitely recommend the hi-fibre cloths which are sold in some hardware stores with a minimal soapy water,. We bought some from an agricultural show and they leave glass & mirror immaculate. They were called PollyS (website:www.polys.nl) and don't know if they can be ordered online and are still available but I think they must be similar to the windowcloths which spudqueen recommends.
I do what the window cleaner does outside. Use fairly liquid in warm water like the window cleaner does, with a sponge, then use one of those squeegee things like he uses to get the suds off. Just run it up and across the window. Seems to work ! If you do it when the sun is shining it dries too quickly before you have time to use the squeegee. Hope this makes sense .. :)

Thanks every one, I have brought some of the hi-fibre cloths and they certainly do the trick. Now all I need to know is how do I get my husband to use them !
Sorry for the late reply but I have just joined the site. I find nothing cleans windows as well as the Windowlene you described. I bought a bottle of it not too long ago, I am not sure if it depends on your geographical location! I live in Scotland and am able to by the pink, creamy Windowlene with no problems. Of course, it may well be that you are happy with the other answers and need no further advice. However, as I said I prefer it to all other window cleaning products (including the clear Windowlene spray) and I love the smell of it. Makes the house have a just cleaned smell. I would suggest contacting the marketing dept of the company and ask them if they still sell in your area. The web address is http://www.rbeuroinfo.com/. If you are based in the UK, I am virtually certain it is possible to buy it here. Hope this helps.
