Do I Need A Plumber Or An Ojm To Fix ...
13 Answers
the shower head as it falls out of its holder? It cracked me on the head again this morning in the midst of me showering, wretched thing. I don't think I need a plumber do I? Incidentally, a couple of the guys in my flats have kindly tried to fix it for me but it unfixes itself again pretty quickly.
If anyone feels like helping, this is my Mira shower and I think about 1.30 is the relevant bit.

Just remove the end caps and a small philips screwdriver top and bottom releases the rail. The part number is 1644.124 and Mira can supply. 10 minute job. You will need to be out of the shower. :))
Once the slidey rail is off, swap the old for the new, and shower without a crash helmet once again.

You simply need the right spare part but that doesn't seem easy to find. The only showerhead holder listed on that website is this one (for a different model):

According to that site, you can't buy the showerhead holder for your model on its own. You have to buy a complete 'fittings kit', which is ruddy expensive!

I think a phone call to the manufacturer's helpline might be your best route forward: 0800 001 4040. (0800 to 1730 tomorrow).

^^^ Crossed posts!
Congratulations to Togo on finding a part number that didn't come up with any of my own searches!
As you can't purchase online though, meaning that you'll need to contact the manufacturer anyway, my suggestion of giving them a call tomorrow still stands.
(While you're waiting for the part, remember that the soap dish serves as a holder for the showerhead too).

Lol Chris, I'm the same most days.
Sorry TB, I missed your reply. Hope all is good with you. I remember many moons ago on here you told us which was the best shower maker in your opinion. I don't suppose it was Mira was it?
Togo it is a wet room so no shower cubicle to worry about.
I need to think about this because I'd rather put up with it (if it'll stay up LOL) than risk damage to my tiles.

Hiya LB. All fine here thanks.
Yes, Mira definitely.
It's not the only one though. Aqualisa are good quality, as is the German brand Grohe.
It's like everything, we tend to go with what we know. Comfort zone really. I had some seals blow once on a very new Mira unit. A quick chat with them on the phone, and they immediately posted me replacements. No questions. No charge.

Wow fancy me remembering that TB when I can't remember what my name is some days. Anyway, pleased to hear all is good with you.
I've thought about the shower head today and remembered a guy who might do it if the job isn't too small for him. But I know it will be perfect if he does it and no tiles will be damaged. I can still use the shower
so no hurry.
It has never been right and I had the installers back 2 possibly 3 times and they told me there was nothing wrong with it. I wish the head came out of the wall on a longish stem further away from the wall so I could stand under it properly. I don't suppose I can get a different top half to replace this one that does just that. Ooops but that'll mess the tiles up. I give up.
