I was diagnosed with this several years ago, and the pain in my right heel was truly horrific. I couldn’t stand, put weight on it, barely walk…..was just this deep intense stabbing pain constantly. In the middle of all this I had an accident and fractured my spine but that’s another story…….
I learnt to cope as best as I could with the P.F but was v difficult coping with the pain, and literally unable to put weight on that foot often.
About 6 weeks ago I developed a severe flare up of it, where the pain was far worse than usual, and even sat with foot up it was pulsating with this stabbing pain. I’ve rested it, I’ve got the sole inserts and heel supports etc for all my trainers etc, I’ve got the foot roller/exerciser, I’ve taken as many painkillers as I can safely take, but am in tears at the mo with the pain. I cannot get to see my doctor for love nor money, it’s not a case for A &E, and I have my sons wedding in 11 days!! How I am going to get thru it I have no idea! Any suggestions, no matter how daft, will be v gratefully read x

I wish I could offer some tips and advice ..... but I can't.
I've recently bought a brace which does offer some relief and I find that when I'm sat down and put my bare feet (socks still on) on the floor, this also offers some relief as well.
Exercising helps some days .... and on other days it just makes it worse.
Some braces are £20+ but I found one on Ebay that was a lot cheaper, so I thought I'd take a punt and buy it and it's quite sturdy to be honest, I'm surprised at the quality considering how cheap it was.
Here's the exact brace that I bought:

Good luck - I was talking to a podiatrist about PF last week and she said that it's an absolute nightmare to treat.
I've been under a physio for about 12 months now .... but it's not really helping to be honest. I've got all the inserts etc for most of my shoes .... but nothing really helps. I'm due to see them again in 2 weeks .... but I know now it'll just be a case of them telling me to persevere with my exercises and possibly giving me some more inserts etc.

When I had it I bought cheap car sponges from the Poundshop cut one in half and put both pieces into the heel of my walking boot. They even had the rounded edges already for easy fit. It was like heaven to walk. I know this couldn't be done with dress shoes. But quite possibly could be done with trainers. Not much good for a wedding but could help you in general. I took them out after my walk so they could spring back into shape. It was unbelievable the difference it made.
I would ask doctor for a course of acupuncture 6-8 sessions, once a week. I knew very little about it when I agreed to sessions after physio hadn't worked, but (neck and shoulder) pain (which had been constant for almost a year) alleviated in first session and lasted for a few years. This is now my number one for pain relief ahead of physio etc. I would highly recommend giving it a try.
