It Doesn't Seem That Long Ago That A Boiler Service Cost Around £40.

The bill for the latest one has just arrived.  It's for £117. 

A few pieces needed to be replaced, but that's quite an increase.

No question, just an observation.

Mine is £12 a year, payable by monthly direct debits at £1 a month. No idea how long that will last.

i know a guy that will do a unofficial service for 40 or if you want the certificate its 60

Mine recent boiler service was £40 by the certified plumber, but no parts were needed.

Seems very reasonable, dont forget Van Insurance is now though the roof thanks to EV's, Diesel is through the roof thanks to the Eco nuts and the company will have to be paying extra EHI so expect another rise next year.

Granted I paid less but then I got "trade" prices as he knows my BIL and he knows I will get everything ready for him and put it all back.

I get the feeling that some are a little confused between a 12 month safety check and a service. Because theres a big difference in price and time spent doing either.

Depends on whats been done to call it a service. You should get a certificate anyhow with just a safety check by law.
