Shower ceiling painting
Last year we painted our newly plastered ensuite ceiling with white paint (doing 4 coats, 2 with water mix as was suggested to us for painting over plaster). In our hurry to get the job done (we were doing another couple of bedrooms as well that had been re-plastered), we used the same emulsion paint in the ensuite as in the rest of the house. The ensuite does not have a window, just an extraction fan. Unfortunately, the ceiling has now started getting areas of black (I assume) mould on it and so clearly needs re-painting. It has occurred to me that we should have used proper bathroom paint to account for the steam etc. But do I need to scrub down the ceilings first - or is there anything else I need to do to prepare properly? Thanks for your advice!
