New rendering
4 Answers
We have just had an external brick wall rendered to prevent damp coming through when it rains heavily. Can we just paint it or should we seal it with a specialist solution? We have looked at stabilisers but the can always says 'Do not used on new rendering'.

It is the external wall of an extension we had built about 15 years ago and at the time it was built there was a partly brick built conservatory next door directly adjacent to the boundary of our house. The outside wall could not therefore be finished off or pointed correctly being built from our side. The conservatory has now been demolished by the new owners and I was advised that it would be better to render the wall rather than have it properly pointed. Thanks for your advice.
