Baxi Boiler

I have a Baxi Bermuda Inset fire and back bolier. My problem is that the boiler doesn't seem to know when to stop heating the water in the central heating system and it gets hotter and hotter until you can actually hear it boiling in the pipes and the radiators are red-hot to the touch.

Eventually it all calms down when the rooms reach the correct temperature and the thermostat kicks in.

I have got around this problem by leaving the heating on 24 hours a day which means the bolier comes on frequently but for only a short period to top the temperature up.

To me it seems like there would be a setting in the boiler or the central heating system somewhere to stop the water getting too hot. Can anyone advise? Many thanks.

My baxi wasn`t the inset fire but the boiler setting was where you light the pilot light. The central heating is worked from the room thermostat, have you got it in a realy cold place. Mine was in the living room,which I thought daft at the time but not if you get these problems.

There Should be a black thermostat knob next to the grey push button you use to light the pilot. It is situated under the fire behind the fendor which will lift off or hinge down.
Try turning it down a bit to see if that solves your problem.

Thanks for both your help. The thermostat switch is down low. I guess it's possible the thermostat isn't working though. I'll get British Gas to check it out.
