Has anyone any idea how to remove silicone grouting? It's around the shower basin, and it need to be replaced (and it's awful looking stuff) but I can't seem to get it off. I have tried blunt knives but no luck. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Susan,

If it is silicone sealant (rubbery stuff) then you need a sharp stanley blade, not a blunt knife.

Cut it out, careful not to damage the shower basin, if it is plastic. Then carefully keep at it until it is removed.

I have recently done the same job around my bath.

Regards
you can buy silicone sealant removant from most diy outlets, you brush it on and then leave it for a while and it kind of melts it. I used it on my plastic bath and it worked a tread.
