Black glue dots from polystyrene tiles.

We've just taken the polystyrene tiles down from the living room ceiling. Unfortunately there are a lot of black glue dots, aswell as white glue dots. Mr Spudqueen says we can't skim the ceiling as the black glue dots would bleed through. They are tenacious ******* and don't come off easily though. How are we meant to get rid of them?

I would have thought that if you PVA sealed it before skimming then all should be fine.

Thanks for that gasman, Mr Spudqueen is very happy with your answer and is going to give that a try.
i had this problem,i found you could steam them of with a wall paper steamer,then scrape them of,easy but a xxxxache
