Kitchen paint

Anyone got any ideas for the colour of my kitchen, the cupboards are quite dark, kind of like country style ones, also any suggestions on the floor? at the mo I've got lino tiles down, but I can't stand them!!

Cream walls, (light ) with light beige ceramic floor tiles, with dark brown grouting.

I'd go more for a butter colour on the walls as it makes the kitchen lovely and spring feeling even in the winter when a little sun comes through. I agree on the beige ceramic tiles but wouldn't the dark brown grouting make the room look smaller and the tiles dirty? Just a thought. I'd go for the pale grey grouting myself.

I agree with your last reply but would just say that I have "Flotex" carpet in both my kitchen and my bathroom which is lovely if, like me, you prefer something a bit warmer underfoot. It is very expensive but extremely hard wearing and you treat it like lino. Nothing soaks in, it just lays on the surface. I wouldn't have anything else.
