A friend and I are currently trying to build a small swimming pool in his back garden. It literally is about 8ft by 5 ft and so is just going to be a place to sit in the sun and cool down! We have dug it out to the desired depth and fashioned a ledge around the edge to sit on but are just unsure about what next.
Can anyone help? We aren't going to put filters and lights in, he has 2 pool filters which we are going to put in the corners which he's been using for his pool bought from a shop. We are just unsure about what sort of things we need to put in as layers? Cement/concrete etc. In a perfect world we would like it to have tiles on the bottom and sides but just need some advice.
Any help/ideas would be most greatfully recieved!

Once again, thanks for your help. Unfortunately there are many people who have made DIY swimming pools so we are under no illusions it can't be done. In fact many DIY shops have "Build your own pool" sections. So, all we are looking for is advice on layers/sealant etc
Can be done by DIY enthusiats but the easiest way is to go into a pool suppliers and ask them exactly what they would do to put this pool in your garden. A tiled pool has to be built differently from a lined or fibreglassed one so go and ask questions of the experts
