Problem sink

My bathroom sink takes AGES to empty. I have taken off the u bend and can't see any blockage, I have also put stuff down the plughole that is supposed to clear and clean it but no joy so far! Any other suggestions?

at some point your bath and sink wastes join, probably in a tee.this may be a position where hair etc. gathers and needs to be cleaned out by rodding with a thin flexible wire(they are sold as drain cleaners) or at worst raising floorboards and separating waste joint to clean out.
it happened to me in an en-suite. hard part was locating joint. domestos etc only go so far. i cleaned out a golf ball size blockage and it was fine after but not a pleasant job

I only have shower, no bath. I have done the bendy rod thing so now what? HELP!!!!!

does,nt matter that much .
it is still two items and 99% of the time one outlet. look outside on the wall where the drain leaves the house and then go back inside to try to estimate where the two waste pipes meet and remove the flooring and floorboards to get to the joint.when you pull it apart wear rubber /washing up gloves, if you can get a small bowl, old ice cream tub or towels under the area for any spillages. it isn,t much water but it does have a strong odour

Try a plunger - the vacuum created could, with a bit of luck, dislodge something further down the system without all the hassle of taking up floorboards.

Buy caustic soda from your hardware store,pour down sink plug hole leave overnight [pour some hot water too carry it down to the blockage].
Also invest in a good sink plunger.

Thanks for your replies. Have tried the plunger(which works temporarily) so I will now give the caustic soda a go. Can't check under floorboards as my bathroom floor is tiled.
