Hi.

Can anyone suggest a cheap parking solution to parking on soil. I've considered paving slabs, gravel but this seems quite complicated to a novice DIY'er like myself. Someone did mention a mesh that can be laid on the ground to park cars on but I've had no joy 'googling' this idea. And suggestions.

Cheers

It's called Tenax Turf Mesh,Google it and you'll find other alternatives. We have it on a field at work to provide extra parking at Christmas.Best laid in Spring so you can grow grass seed through it.

Thanks barb1314 that great help!!
Turf mesh is a fine idea, but more complicated/expensive to install to good old gravel. A fabric skip bag (about 850kg) of pea gravel delivered by a builders' merchant will cost you about 50.
gravels fine until it gets spread about of local kids use it to throw at your windows or each other.
theres nothing at all complicated about laying a few slabs, you only need a couple of strips to drive on.
dig down about 9 inches, spread some hardcore to a depth of 4 inches and compact it well, 2 inches of builders sand, then lay the slabs using some ready mixed slab fix, doddle.
ive always called people in to do jobs around the house/garden but laid a garden path myself for the first time this spring and was well chuffed, gives you a sense of achievment too!
Gobi Blocks.
Like pavers with holes in that the grass grows though also called turf blocks
