fridge net capacity

We are looking to replace our fridge freezer but do not know the net capacity of the fridge section i.e ?? cu ft.
We are looking to replace it, with a fridge capacity greater, than our current one. So can anyone tell me how I can work out reasonably accurate the net capacity of our present fridge.

Measure the height, depth, and width of the compartment in inches. Divide each of the measurements by 12. Multiply the results. (H x D x W). This will give the capacity in cubic feet.
You can do the same with the door if you like, (and just ignore its shelves as they won't detract much from the result). Add the door and fridge cu ft together for the total capacity.

Alternatively if you knew the model no of your fridge/freezer you could research the specifications on somewhere like pricerunner.co.uk. Failing that BJS's answer is an admirable one.
