I live in Serbia and one of my pet hates here are the metal gutters and downpipes that are so noisy when it rains, keeping me awake at night.
Would plastic not be suitable here because of the colder winters - down to -20C?

Bizarrely, none of the three major UK manufacturers of plastic rainwater products say anything about the minimum temperature that unplasticised PVC (PVCu) will tolerate - so I can't help, sorry.
The three manufacturers are Hunter, Marley and Osma (Wavin) - you could try emailing their technical departments to ask. PVCu is going to be much the same the world over.
