I have an old programmer on the wall which controls my central heating and hot water.
It is calles a Landis & Gyr chronogyr REV20.
Like me its getting a bit old and temperamental so I would like to change it.
It as just two wires leading it - one red and one black.
Is there a programmer made today which has the same wiring system - so that I might swap over without having to meddle with the backplate.

that link is for a room thermostat not a programmer.

i'm presuming you dont have a combi but a traditional style system with a cylinder and tanks in the loft? cant say ive ever come across a programmer for that type of system with just 2 wires. most systems are typically whats called y or s or w plans with room stats, cylinder stats, zone valves and the power thru to the boiler and can have a dozen or more wires going thru the programmer.
if your unsure you really need to get a heating engineer in to sort it as you could get in a right mess trying to rewire it yourself.
