I have recently taken off a radiator in my lounge and even though i have shut off the valve there is still the slightest bit of water that comes out, its very minimal. I was wondering if it will eventually seal itself or will i have to try to seal it properly, thanks in advance.
do you mean you've removed the radiator permanantly or just to do some decorating?
beware, if you've got a thermostatic radiator valve then turning it to 0 is not enough as if you get a frosty night the valve can open up and dump water all over your floor, your meant to remove the head of the valve and screw on the blanking cap that comes with the valve (most people lose them however)
if its a non-thermostatic valve then try giving it a little tweak with some pump pliers to see if it will stop leaking then.
gucciman is 100% on that one, I took a rad' off 3 weeks ago and in the night the valve opened, luckily we were having a new carpet, having lost the blanking cap I then used a brass disc and nut from the plumbers merchant to cap the valve output.

Get someone to carefully tweek the nut a bit tighter, it probably only neads a quarter turn. valves that leak on the nut, leak more when the rad is turned off.
