I have some vinyl foil which I want to apply to an end panel on a kitchen cupboard. I have seen this being applied using heat from a hair dryer, but can anyone advise exactly how much heat is required and how is it applied . i.e. is the foil held in place and then heat applied to the front or is it best to heat the back of the foil and then apply to the surface? Would appreciate any advice.
I the past I've applied quite large vinyl stickers (like a self adhesive sign) to plastic sheeting by applying diluted fairy liquid to the surface and slowly smoothing down. What it does is give you a bit of "slip" to reposition if necessary,Surprisingly it doesn't interfere with the final bond.
