I've acquired a new porch to my outside door. I now want to paint the brick back wall containing this door. As the brickwork is now internal can I use a decent quality interior emulsion paint......I'm open to suggestions......thanks !

I'd suggest you use 'contract matt emulsion'. This paint contains no added chemicals such as vinyl, this allows any salts to permeate through the paint layer to the surface. If any salts do come through don't wash them with water, just brush them off.
Contract matt is widely available, & is very cheap, about 15-00 for 10lts. However, it only comes in 2 colours, white & magnolia.
