Bathroom panelling

We currently have tiles on the walls in the bathroom and we are wanting to re-fit the whole place.

I have seen panelling mentioned on the site for bathrooms and wonder what you mean by this. Can one use wood panelling in a shower area or would clear perspex sheets be better?

Are there any points to remember regarding making sure that water does not seep behind the panel?

Thanks

It's not wood, that would eventually warp, it's fully waterproofed laminate panels. They can be put over existing tiles so you don't have the hassle of taking them all off before you get started.
