Hello. I was just trying to unscrew something and the head of the screw broke off leaving the rest inside my gadget. Can anyone suggest where to go from here?

Do you have an electric drill? Choose a drill bit smaller than the broken screw, drill a whole in the screw, insert a sheet metal screw into the hole and tighten. It should, then back out the broken screw... You don't say whether it's broken inside of wood or metal retaining it. If wood, it makes it a whole lot easier. If metal, you may be able to reverse the drill bit once it's started and also reverse the screw.

You'll find some of the screws are quite hard and resist the bit.... use a center punch to indent the broken end first if it doesn't want to drill out. Additionally, if you ever have one that's still sticking out sufficiently, use your drill and simply fit the empty chuck over the broken stub, tighten and the will usually zip right out... (There are E-Z out kits available at any DIY store, but the also require drilling a hole in the stuck screw)...Best of luck!
