Light fittings without earth connectors

I have two light fittings without earth connectors. the existing wiring for ceiling rose has a terminal for earth. what can i do with the earth wire? can i run an earth back to the junction box? the lights have metal casing.

If the lights have a metal casing, they should be earthed.

Chek that it is definately metal and some plastics can be made to look like metal.

If they are metal, take them back to the retailer. If they are plastic, put the earth conductor into a connector and tape up.

thanks for the response. The lights are double insulated halogen.
