Looking for a young adult book I used to read?

When I was younger, there was this book I used to read over and over again. Seriously, I checked this thing out of the library so many times! But I now can't remember what it was called or who wrote it. And it has been driving me crazy because I loved this book and would love to read it again! I've even gone as far as to go back to the library and ask if they had any records, but they didn't.
So, here's what I vaguely remember -

- The story was about a girl, who after an argument with her father, ended up in a roadside cafe where she met a rock band and ended up sort of running away on tour with them...

- I first read it in 1995 or 1996 so it had to have been published before then.

- It was on the shelf next to Judy Blume and Point Romance books.

- I seem to remember a lot of yellow and black on the cover

The plot might vary a bit from that. I'm not sure how good my memory is!
If anyone has even a clue as to what this book might be, please let me know!

Synopsis:
