Ideal Classic Boiler fault

Can someone please tell me whats going on? I think I have a ghost hiding in the boiler. I have recently moved into a newly built home with a Ideal Classic boiler fitted. Two weeks ago it started to work all by its self. When the central heating is switched off at the controller the bolier fires ups all on its own. Someone mentioned that it was to do with the frost detection but if this is so why does it heat my radiators throughout the night. The auto circuit switches off at 10pm but the boiler can be heard to fire up several times during the night. I only seem to be able to control it by turning the room theromstatic switch down to 15degrees whilst I sleep. The hot water circuit doesnt seem to be effected. Is a boiler man neccessary? Thanks

my first thought was the frost stat was firing the boiler but usually an external frost stat is only fitted if the boiler is in an outhouse or garage, many boilers have a built in frost stat but again this probably isn't going to activate unless the boiler was in an outhouse, garage etc. even if it did the boiler only fires for a short period to protect the boiler itself, i wouldn't expect the radiators to heat up much.

I am thinking that either the programmer is faulty or you haven't set it properly. some programmers can have as many as 16 on-off periods and it could be that even though you have timed the heating to go off at 10pm there could be other times still present in the programmers settings.

check the programmer to see what times are set, if thats not the answer call a heating engineer

sorry i just re-read your question and your house is newly built, in which case get in touch with the builders and tell them you want it sorted under your warranty.
you could try the boiler maker as it will be under warranty but if they send an engineer out and there is no fault with the boiler but there is a fault with the installation then they will charge you for the call-out.
also if it is a newly built house and newly installed system it is possible that the system could have been wired wrongly.
