TV Aerial query

This is an idea but not sure if it would work in practice.

If I were to connect a loop aerial or small indoor aerial to to the connector on the main aerial (the bit that normally goes in the back of the tv) would a portable tv in the room then pick up the tv signal if the loop aerial on the back were angled towards the small indoor aerial.

Will this work?
