Anyone know of a device better than TRV to control individual room temp's on my existing gas central heating.
I think TVR's are not very good.

There is no better automated and cheap device than a TRV. Maybe you have really cheapo useless ones. Try Honeywell or Drayton.

Thank's Buildersmate.
The TVR's I have are "ECOCAL" made by Altecnic.
I was hoping to find a system, something like, motorised valve fitted to rad. & controled by a stat. set away from the rad., in each room.
I expect to pay much more for such a system.
How can I expect good control of room temp. when sensor is so close to rad. & so near to the floor as TVR's are.
Maybe this sort of thing if you are prepared to splash out. Decent basic TRV is about 18 - you probably knew that, so these things are 2x the price.
I've never tried them - maybe Gucciman knows something about them.

Thank's again Buildersmate.
I am going to try one of those,I hope drayton are better than my current one. The 4 degrees set back facility sounds good.
I found a TVR with a remote sensor on the drayton site, but Mrs dunr (36.24.35) would object to the capillary tube up the wall !
