Fixing a leak in a toilet

my floor is soaking but i cant find where the water is leaking from. I think its coming from the toilet bowl.
any suggestions please.

The pipes are all dry.
is it worse when you flush? the connection between cistern and toilet may be leaking, assuming its close coupled.you did,nt say which type of toilet so im guessing.
the rubber or sponge washer, nicknamed a doughnut, may be loose or perished.it tightens by the two rusty bolts, typically butterfly /wingnuts, near the toilet seat retaining bolts

Thanks for that terence i have infact managed to narrow it down. ins the watter inlet from the wall. Its got metal bolts and rubber washers ill bip to b and q and relace them maybe put some plumbers mate down. Thanks again people.
well to be honest you didn't give us much to go on.
that reminds me, our local police station was broken into last week and all the toilets were stolen. The police still have nothing to go on!

well i can tell you that its white and its a loo.... its got a silver flush i dont know.. what did you need to know lol
