Bricking up side/back door
4 Answers
My husband wants to brick up the side entrance door in our house which would mean we could have a run of units in our kitchen and therefore more room in our kitchen. He says we never use that door, which is basically true, but I am worried - I think it should be kept as a fire exit, or I worry that it will reduce the value of our house, as people might expect there to be a door there. We do have another door at the back, leading off the lounge. Would we be alright to brick it up, or not?

My garden is fenced off and the gate kept locked as I have dogs. The side door can be a nuisance as my cars have to be parked tight up to the boundary to allow people (including the postman) access to it. The only way around it would be to have a porch built on the front of the house so I have a front door. You do not say if you have a front door cooljool.
