I'm sanding floorboards with a hired industrial sander but as they were originally painted, in the little narrow gaps between each floorboard you can still see cream paint. I know its fussy but any ideas as to how to get rid of the paint? The sander doesn't touch them because they are about a centimeter below each floorboard

If you have a circular saw device you could, with a thin blade carefully run the blade along the cracks, but set the cut very shallow.
you could try brushing some paint stripper on and then use a stiff brush to remove the paint but the first idea would be alot quicker.

thanks you guys, will try and beg a circular saw off my men friends! If not I'll try the second option. Apart frm this problem, floor's beginning to look ace, worth all the hard work and aches and pains from dragging the machines round.
