Smoke Detector
4 Answers
I would like to install a smoke detector in my garage and attic. Are there any devices which can be installed in these areas but the audio part of the alarm is actually in the house? I dont want a fancy wired mains unit just something I can put up and change the batteries every few months. Thanks

These models are made by EI (a well-known company) and do this.

You would have to change the smoke alarm in the house as well - that would be the one you would hear when the garage one set-off.
I can see the point in the garage, but one wonders what you keep in the attic that warrants it.

Thanks. Will check it out. A friend had an attic fire caused by some wiring. Insurers think it nay have been nibbled by mice or squirrels. I back onto woodlands where both are abundant. Chances r slim but if it gives me a few extra minutes to get my family out then it's worth it's weight in gold. Thanks again.
