Leaking Boiler / Landlords responsibility / Damaged Laptop
Help !
We moved into a house as tenants a week ago and ever since we have all sorts of problems, which, after a lot of shouting and angry phone calls have been sorted amicably. However, last night (overnight) the bolier started leaking and has dripped onto my partners laptop (while open, but off)
The laptop is \"only\" an older IBM Thinkpad but it wont turn on / do anything as its totally saturated ( water was running off the worktop it had leaked that much)
We havent got round to getting contents insurance yet and are wondering if the landlord or letting agent are obliged to compensate us ( as I dont think we would be able to get another IBM laptop) ..
Please can someone tell us where we stand ..
TIA

The landlord is responsible for the boiler and if it is faulty, any damage caused by it. You can't expect a huge amount of money for the laptop though. Have a look on Amazon and/or eBay and see how much similar ones are selling for.
