Black Mould the size of Belgium

Hi folks, I am buying a house empty for 2 yrs at an amazing price
BUT the corridor ceiling is covered in black mould. In the room at the end of the corridor the room still with lots of furniture in it is covered in black and white mould. I know mould can be lethal and I need to use a face mask but can I have some advice on what to use to clean it and the method. Many thanks

Is it worth getting a professional cleaning company to do it?

As soon as you've got the dehumidifiers (you can hire them from tool hire places) get the heating on as well to warm the place up - it'll probably take 3 or 4 days to heat through properly.
And DO wear a mask in there - unless you want to be coughing and spluttering for ages afterwards.

are you sure it is just damp from being empty?..deffo a facemask and ventilate well if you are going to use bleach or a proprietary mould remover

the damp has come up from the two cellars which are lovely and dry now.
The idea to get it dried out first is simple and right and I didn't think of it thanks a lot.
face mask is a must .More carcenogens and anything else in a household in black mould

I have been told Boric acid is the way to go as a cleaner

I had this problems when moisture was seeping through the bathroom wall in the Villa and through to my wardrobes in my bedroom.

After getting the necessary work done in the bathroom, I washed the walls down in Ammonia and water. Worked a treat.

hot water with bleach should be fine... then any painting should be done with anti fugal paint. You need to address the damp problems permanently or it will re-occur... or and ventilation!

Looking at all the answers that advise using bleach, you might like to look up ''bleach does not kill mould'' on Google. The advice should be to go out and buy a mould/mildew remover that is not bleach based.

Hi folks I used a mixture of hydrogen peroxide..pharmacutical grade 30% and boric acid.
Wonderful stuff !!!
but it did burn and we had to cover up completely. It also dissolved artex !!!
It took us 6 weeks to remove all the mould but have not had any back.

BLEACH DOES NOT WORK. the bleach stays on the surface the mix I used went below the surface.It is what the used after the floods in America
