Is there any quarrys near Epsom that you can purchase DTp1 sub granular base?

Basically just want to buy it as cheap as possible from somewhere

Any help would be great!
Thanks

Personally I reckoned that Epsom Downs are chalk. But that's still no good as a sub-base.
This stuff gets shifted around the country in massive long trains - a pretty low-cost method of shifting bulk stuff. I shouldn't worry too much about a local supply source.

That stuff is usually made from crushed rock. Epsom lies on a thick bed of London clay. More than likely it'll have to come from elsewhere. Have you tried chatting up some builders merchants?

Even if there was a quarry near you, you almost certainly wouldn't be allowed in. Health and Safety has gone ballistic over the last year or two and if you haven't got an EPIC card, you will probably be refused entry.
