Waterproof Sealant Needed

I have 2x340 ltr plastic tubs to use for horses to drink out of. They have a few small holes in and need sealing/filling. Does anyone know of any waterproof sealant available. All the silicone sealant i have seen are not for use where it will be continuously immersed in water (which obviously it will). I found some gutter sealer which is painted on from a tin but the seller thinks it would not be ok for my needs.
Can anyone help please??

Just a thought outside the trough - sorry, box - why not get some builder's polythene and let it drape into the troughs, then weight down the outside bits with breezeblocks? It'd certainly work until you got a proper job done.
you'd also need non toxic if horses are going to drink from it, how about pond sealant.

Depending on the size of the holes I would look at getting some nuts & bolts from B&Q etc. Put them through the holes with any type of sealant under the heads.
Don't use roofing compounds .. most have a bituminous base.
75 gallon containers pretty big.
Get some Butyl sealant .. make some patches and stick on inside, after cleaning, degreasing and "keying" the surface with some sand/emery paper.
Following on from scotman's suggestion: look for bolts that are used to fix corrugated sheets of roofing materials to small buildings. These bolts usually have a watertight washer on them.
