How how much, roughly would it cast to have a row of twelve of these removed and taken away? They are about 16 foot high.

I can't tell you how much it might cost but it would cost more if you have the stumps removed. If having stumps flush with the ground is not a problem then it will be a lot cheaper as they have deep roots. They will not regrow from the stumps.

Hi, the roots are being left as I really can't afford that as well .....bluddy things!!!!
Get a couple of quotes from tree surgeons to cut down and stump grind which will get rid of the stumps.
I`d guess about £1000.
Yes I'd say about £1000 too. Pricey eh?

I had about that number, perhaps a few more (it's too dark to go out and count the stumps) cut down about 10 years ago and it cost £200 - but the cowboys also managed to cut down my neighbour's telephone line although I had warned them about it before they started. Cost included removal from site. Last year a single sycamore, by a more professional TS, cost me £120.
If I was in your area I would charge you £200 + taking all the rubbish away, Just over half a days work for two men.
I had trees about that height removed last year, was charged £100 per tree.
Ratters: Did you notice there are 12 trees? £200....you can come and take mine up and away for that price, and I only have 8 and only 7ft tall.
I'm no longer a professional Tree Surgeon but I do like to do a bit to keep my hand in, I still enjoy the work.
8 trees 7 ft tall, would do those in my lunch break lol.
You must have retired a long time ago at your prices.
dive - it is impossible for anyone here to give you a rough estimate. carltons estimate of £1000 gives no consideration to access ect - would be a lot cheaper than that imo.
Only thing to do is to get some quotes - rather than use yellow pages have a look at this website
http://www.landscapejuicenetwork.com a good group of ehtical gardners
Like I said, im no longer a pro, money for old rope, felling trees is easy work when they are that small.
I`ve got 2 in my back garden that need cutting down, I think there`s a few birds nests in them, what do I do about them?

Morning...Just to conclude this thread.....it cost me, yesterday, £160 , 40 fags and 2 crates of Becks !!!!
So I think I had myself a bargain! Oh and I made them sandwiches at lunch time ;O)

Ok so the stumps are still there but the light in my garden is amazing!

I had two 50fts taken down earllier this year in February to let in more light, and now I have to draw our curtains in the afternoon if I want to watch TV. Amazing the amount of light they kept out of the garden, but I`ll miss the shade they gave, come a hot summer this year....maybe!!
result dive - how high are the stumps?
If you`re asking me Tony, they`re 1ft.
