I think its after the flowers appear. Mine took ages to appear and now I have loads of tomatoes.

i still haven't got any yet. could it be that we planted them to late?
have you got them in a greenhouse or outside? Ours are in an open greenhouse and whilst we have a few flowers we have no tomatoes as yet - this is quite normal for us. I'd expect mine in about 3-4 weeks.

outside in the garden. thanks twirls gives me a bit more hope now.
Mine are on a window ledge in the kitchen, I planted mine in May, the tomatoes are just appearing now.

we have a greenhouse for the first time this year - having always grown tomatoes outside previously - and what a difference it seems to have made. We have had flowers for a while but now we have so many tomatoes starting to grow its unbelievable. Im not sure if its all to do with the greenhouse or whether this year is a particularly good one for them or even the variety we have (as usual i was given the plants and do not know which variety apart from i have 2 beef tomatoes, 2 cherry and 3 alicante). The tomatoes will follow i am sure.
