Does a Passport which ran out a couple of years ago still count for identification purposes as far as a bank is concerned? Other identifition is a paper only driving licence (expiry 2017), letter fron Benefits Agency (dated a couple of weeks ago), and from DVLA dated September. My argument is that the passport identifies the name to the face, the other items identify the name to the address etc. Thoughts please?

I don't know the answer to this, but I'd like to....

I don't have a photo driving licence and my passport is due to expire soon...

Your list of options seems very short have you checked the web site of the Bank concerned?

All utilities are in MY name (not hers) - companies were asked, but would not add her name, all banking is done online, therefore no statements received etc. DOB is on existing Driving Licence (along with address) AND Passport.

Any tax documentation with name and address and DOB on.

I'm not sure what you mean by your response. I agree that to my knowledge banks, or anyone else, don't accept expired passports.

Check with the bank or you will need to get another from of photo id.

My building society refused to accept my passport last year when it expired yet they were quite happy to accept a ten years out of date CIS4 self employed card, what a joke!

Most on line Banks will issue a paper statement if requested,

Although my hubby and I borrowed some money from the bank (my bank) and they accepted our out of date passports (out of date by 5 years or more!).
