Hyacinths in pot problem

I bought a 6 pack of prepared bulbs and followed the instructions to the letter so that they would bloom all at the same time for Christmas, but only one in the centre of the group has bloomed, and that one has `blown`. The others are starting to bloom, but won`t be out for the New Year by the look of them. I planted them in an 8" pot with bulb fibre as per inst`s.
Anyone know what went wrong?
