veggie patch

i am thinking about a veggie patch in my garden. one side of garden gets sun all day. the other side is shaded.what would be the best side for growing. would it be sunny or shaded

Don't bother to try growing veg in shade - they need an open sunny site to thrive.

thanks to both of you for replies .looks like sunny side it is then
however set aside a little space in the shady area for a selection of mints just sink tiles or other barrier in the ground all round them to stop them becoming invasive
sunny side..good luck it's a lot of work dong veggies.....easier to go to Tesco !!!
just grow easy stuff a wigwam of runner beans, courgettes radishes, lettuce, broccoli, spinach, and if you have room some new potatoes... and maybe if its very warm some cucumbers ... broad beans are good too as are french beans. and rhubarb
Personally I'm not sure why rhubarb was invented!
