So a few years back I was driving around my home country of Shropshire, and noticed a dead tree had been painted red in a field.

Last week I saw two more trees that had been painted red, is this some weird coincidence, or does the painting of trees red signify something? (prehaps something as simple as they will fell the tree soon?)

There was one painted red on Reigate Hill,Surrey. farmer just allowed students to paint the tree I believe. Not sure if it still there
Normally this means they are scheduled for felling.
If it was a whole tree then I would t hink it was some artistic attempt. If it was a splodge of colour then scheduled for felling. But that is usually blue, well it is around my neck of the woods.
