Surprising Zantadeschias
0 Answers
Last autumn I was clearing the borders and found some seeds on the zantatdeschia plants - those lovely trumpet shaped flowers with long graceful leaves. I carelessly popped them into a plantpot half full of loose compost and stirred up with a finger, intending to sew them properly later on. Well - I never got round to it. About 3 weeks later I saw tiny shoots, so just left them where they were in the utility room until spring, when I planted them into a sheltered place in the border without separating them or anything. This year they have grown into healthy 12" plants and I am wondering if they will be big enough to flower next year ! Has anyone else had success with these? Should I dig them up and separate them, or store them, or just leave well alone?
