I have 2 beautiful plants which have cropped well and are still willing, but they've slowed right down now that the weather is colder. Can I prolong the growing season by covering them to protect them or do I just have to accept the goods times are over?!
I think you have to accept that it really is the end of the season. It's not the weather conditions as such but the daylight hours that matter. I would give them best and give up.
Of course you're right fgt, I'll cover the small fruits and the tips and see what happens. As you say, nothing to lose but the days really are getting rapidly shorter now aren't they? I can remember picking them by torch light in previous years as I arrived home from work, so I might have another week or two to go.
