Recycle Bin Problems
Hi
Please help if you can. Why are things that I'm deleting not going into my recycle bin (they were just recently) and when I delete things such as sites off of my favourites it is not asking if I want to send them to recycle bin (which it used to). Also when I right click to delete something, the Windows 7 shield is on the left side of the delete and rename in the list.
Nothing is showing up in the recycle bin even though I've deleted lots of favourites yet I have it set up to ask if I want to send them to bin and not permanently delete things so that I can check in recycle bin before I do that.
Have Win 7 Premium Home and fed up as I really can't see how to sort this. Need easy instructions as I'm not a techy by any means. Thanks so much for any help you can give.

I wouldn't know where to look for it and also what is concerning me, why have these windows shields just appeared next to the delete and rename and also on a few other things as well? They never used to be there. Wonder if they have done something to the recycle bin usage.
When you right-click on the recycle bin and the Properties pop-up windows appears, if you click in the on the drive from which you are trying to delete files has a size been set for the recycle bin (displayed in the Settings For Selected Location area immediately below the drive selection) or has the Don't Move... option been selected?
Ok make a dummy recycle bin and pop a shortcut onto your desk top....you can chose an appropriate icon....now instead of deleting you send everything to your New desktop icon call it Rubbish bin.........when you are ready to delete and shred it then delete it send it to your recycle Bin as per usual.

@bb the size there is 16400 (or similar) which hasn't changed at all before all this happened and the don't move option hasn't been selected, all is as it was before this happened. I think it could have something to do with the windows 7 shields that have appeared next to delete and rename.
@ lisa, have created a document and set on desktop (if that's what you mean) but not sure how to send things to it, doesn't have specific names in send to. I admit to be non techy, I will try certain things but not good at doing much. Sorry, it must be difficult to advise someone like me.

Hi methyl the AV is Norton's and has been all the time and I haven't changed anything on it so it's never done that before if it is that. I just wonder why the shield has appeared next to the delete and rename on the list and have a suspicion it's something to do with that though not sure of course.

Thanks Tuvok can see that they're not files then but they always have gone into the recycle bin ever since I've been using the computer. I was always asked if I was sure I wanted to send them to the recycle bin, clicked yes and there they were because I could then restore them if I had changed my mind. It's only recently this has stopped since the windows shield was set against delete and rename when right clicked on.
