Sealant To Stick Pond Liner To Cement/paving Slab

So that it's a neat finish, I need something, perhaps like a sealant, to stick my pond liner to the cement/paving along one side of my pond. There will be no danger of the sealant coming into contact with the pond water, and possibly harming the fish. (I'll fold a little of the excess liner back into the pond and use a bead of the stuff specifically made to use in ponds to stick liner to liner to finish off.)

So, does anyone have any experience of the type of sealant that might be used in this particular scenario? Many thanks.

I think most people put a line of stone or brick to keep the liner down, and finish the edge, but, for a sealant, then ordinary silicone from a 300ml tube will do it.

Only do it if both surfaces are completely dry though. Silicone doesn't like water if it's going to stick.

Many years ago I fixed a butyl pond liner to a flat roof. As the years went by I tried various adhesives and sealants to do the odd edge repair. The best one I found that stuck butyl to brick was Sikaflex. Twice the price of the others.
A word of warning... as a rule you don't worry about getting adhesives on your hands. But with Sikaflex make sure you wear gloves when using it.
The first time I used it I was fixing a keel band onto a fishing boat and just wiped the edges with my fingers... I had black adhesive on my hands for almost a week.
Once again best to have both surfaces dry when applying.

We just used large stones to weigh down the sides of liner. Also, of course adding water after sticking liner down may make it rip. I'm no expert but have extensive experience of using sealant around the bath v unsuccessfully, lol. Leave enough liner for it to give when adding water. Sorry I can't help further, and good luck,!

Thanks, too, to RuthandSam. I will be doing as you suggest for most sides of the pond but I needed to stick one part of the liner to existing paving slabs which are already cemented down. The pond is already filled with water and so there'll not be a problem with the liner ripping (hopefully!).
