Wild Bramble

Am I right, If you keep cutting runners of wild bramble back to ground level eventually the root will give up and die. Seem to have heard this somewhere TIA

Surely it must eventually, if you cut all growth away.

However if it is against a fence then some will grow the other side, out of reach.

Not heard of that mala. There is a weedkiller especially designed for brambles and other woody menaces. It's called Vitax SBK. I'm assured that this stuff will sort it out. I have a bramble in the middle of a lavender bush, so I can't dig it out. Just spry it onto the leaves and wait.

I got it yesterday, sprayed it all over every leaf I could find. so it should be getting on with it now. It has a stream as well as a spray, so you can get in among the surrounding plants and not harm them.

We get weed killer from the council. I'll find out what it's called but it's brilliant.

True...our weed killer probably wouldn't be any good then. I've used the weed killer all over because the garden is going to be completely cleared and started again from scratch.

be careful what you use..some need the land to lie fallow for 12 months thereafter ...

the active ingredient is trichlorpyr
and you can look it up in wiki if you want

( unstable in water and lurks in decaying veg for up to 12 mo )
